WPCNJ To Honor Carol R. Katz, Trailblazer Award Recipient

The daughter of a lobbyist, Carol never intended to enter the profession herself. After majoring in history at Amherst College and completing a stint at a consulting firm in Chicago, Carol decided to further pursue a career in business and headed to Harvard Business School. With her MBA in hand, Carol worked on Wall Street, in corporate development for a growing manufacturer, and as assistant to the Commissioner of a New York City economic development agency.

But when serendipity brought her to Trenton to “temporarily” help out at her father’s firm, she discovered that she loved the job. She worked for another lobbying firm for over a decade before founding Katz Government Affairs in 2003. In the 20 years since, she has enjoyed vigorously advocating for KGA’s clients, expanding the firm’s extraordinary team of professionals, and actively participating in the vibrant process of shaping public policy in the State capital.

Carol enjoys listening to audiobooks, taking New Jersey day trips with her husband and spending time with their two grown children in Brooklyn.
