Honoring Vin Gopal Recipient of the Good Guy Award

Vin Gopal  
Chairman, Monmouth County Democrats 
Born and raised in Monmouth County, Vin is a successful entrepreneur and business development professional. Vin has served in a leadership role for many non-profits, including the Board of Trustees for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Monmouth and Middlesex Counties (2010-2012) and the Board of Directors for the Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce (2009-2012), where he served as Chairman of the chamber's Government Affairs Committee in 2012. He was also elected to a three year term as President of the Hazlet Business Owners Association, serving from January of 2010 to January of 2013.
Vin is the President of Direct Development, LLC (DD), a marketing and creative design agency based in Hazlet Township which represents various private companies. DD specializes in business development, digital media, design, communications, public relations, media relations and online marketing. DD also operates Community Magazine, a chain of full-color magazines that mail to over 25,000 homes every month in Monmouth County. DD, with a staff of 14 employees, is proud to represent over 100 area companies in their marketing and business development needs. 

In addition to operating a small business, Vin volunteers his time as Chairman of the Monmouth County Democratic Party. He was elected Monmouth County Democratic Chairman in June of 2012 with 73% of the vote. He was unanimously re-elected in 2014 and 2016. He was rated on PolitickerNJ.com's Top 100 Most Politically Influential people in NJ's Politics in their 'Power List' in 2016 at #50. 

Vin was recognized by the Asbury Park Press in 2013 as a future leader to watch. He was honored by the Monmouth Chamber of Commerce in 2014 with the Beacon of Hope award. Vin was named Deputy Vice Chairman of the NJ Democratic State Committee in 2014. Vin was also honored by the Community Affairs and Resource Center in 2015.

WPCNJ Internship Opportunity

The Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey ("WPCNJ"), a non-profit organization, seeks an energetic and skilled intern who will assist the organization in effectively achieving its mission and goals. 

The internship is open to a college student seeking school credit.  The internship would serve as a valuable experience for those majoring in political science, communications, or a related field.  The primary duty of the intern is to provide assistance to the WPCNJ Administrator, including but not limited to, support upcoming events/programs, political research & communications.

National Women’s Political Caucus Endorses Bonnie Watson Coleman for U.S. House in New Jersey

Washington, D.C – The National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) is pleased to reendorse Bonnie Watson Coleman for the U.S. House in New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District.

Watson Coleman served New Jersey for over 30 years in various offices before her election to Congress in 2014. She has continued to advocate for her constituents during her first term in the House of Representatives, fighting for the rights of women, the LGBTQ community, people of color and other underrepresented groups.

WPCNJ Democratic Task Force #TBT - DNC Convention

13895517_10210109015748717_6818184396518514294_n_(1).jpgToday’s #TBT post is to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia where Hillary Clinton was nominated as the Democratic Nominee for President just two weeks ago. This was the first time a major party has nominated a woman, and members of the Women's Political Caucus New Jersey (WPCNJ) Democratic Task Force (DTF) were there throughout the week witnessing the historic event. WPCNJ President Chrissy Buetas, WPCNJ VP Finance Grace Strom Power, WPCNJ Board Member Kelly Stewart Maer, WPCNJ Middlesex County Board Member Babs Siperstein were delegates and Board Members: Eileen Della Volle, Rebecca Moll Freed, Andrea Katz, Andrea Katz, Esq., Rosemary Bernardi, Lisa Chapman, Patricia Teffenhart and Shari Weiner attended the convention as well. 

Board member Kelly Stewart Maer spearheaded New Jersey efforts for the Hillary for America Campaign(HFA) as early as the beginning of 2015. She served as the campaigns Official Registered Agent heading up HFA delegate operations and served as the DNC, HFA Whip Captain for the entire NJ delegation during the DNC convention in Philadelphia.
