Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey
honors

Social Justice Award

1199SEIU is on the frontlines in the fight for healthcare, good jobs, and social justice for all.  As the largest union of healthcare workers in the nation, 1199 represents over 400,000 workers including 16,000 families in New Jersey.  This union membership is deeply involved in movements to improve the lives of Garden State families-organizing to raise staffing levels for patients in nursing homes, fighting for a $15 minimum wage, defending the rights of immigrants, and advancing the causes of racial and gender equality.  As committed health caregivers, it is 1199's mission to provide high-quality patient care and raise standards for workers in this industry.
