On Tuesday, March 20th, the Board of the Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey (WPCNJ) appointed Jeannine LaRue to serve as Interim Chair of the WPCNJ-PAC. Jeannine has extensive experience in government, serving in elected and appointed roles, and has worked as a respected and influential lobbyist in Trenton for three decades. Most recently she served on the congressional redistricting committee and was one of a select group of women honored on PolitickerNJ’s “The Power List 2011 & Year in Review”.
Interim PAC Chair Jeannine La Rue said, “I am so proud to serve as the Interim PAC Chair for the Caucus. For the first time in a decade, we have the opportunity to send two women to Congress from New Jersey. Our current Congressional Delegation has not included a single woman since Congresswoman Marge Roukema retired in 2003. I am committed to working with the Caucus to reverse this trend. “
Interim President Liz Murray added, "We are absolutely thrilled that Jeannine will be serving as the Interim PAC Chair. Her energy, vast network of contacts and wealth of leadership experience will be a true asset to our efforts to elect women at the State and Federal levels. With women’s health issues under constant attack, it is more crucial than ever to ensure women have a seat at the table."
The interim position expires at our annual reorganization meeting in May 2012 when formal elections will be held.
