The Barbara Boggs Sigmund Awards Reception is the annual fundraising
event for WPC-NJ's PAC. The awards are presented to outstanding
visionary women for their contributions. The event was named in honor of
the late Barbara Boggs Sigmund, who was Mayor of Princeton Borough,
Mercer County Freeholder, and a Congressional candidate. She was also
the founder of Women's Space, a nonprofit agency that provides services
to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. She was known
for her wit, her courage, her political skills, and her Southern
graciousness. Barbara died in 1990 at the age of 51, but her incredible
spirit survives and serves as an inspiration to many.
